Encouraging Words

I'm leaving my house soon to go see dad. Later tonight when we have some time I am going to read him some of the comments left on this site. If you want to leave him an encouraging comment please do! (If you don't have an account, you can comment anonymously and then sign your name in the comment.)

I know him hearing the names of those of you reading would really encourage him. He doesn't really realize how many people are praying for him (and some of you don't even know us personally, but we appreciate you praying for us!) Thank you!

Ohhhh, and I just hung up with my mom, we knew ICU would call her with any changes, well they called! He wanted his glasses (that were in her purse) so he could watch TV!! HA HA

God is good!

Wow! I logged in this morning, not expecting to see much to be reported, considering the long and difficult surgery that Bob went through. However, to see that he's been awake and coherent and wants to watch TV is SO encouraging. Tell Bob that I and my family and church are continuing to pray for him and that the workplace just isn't the same without him.

After I got out of the shower this morning, I logged on to see if by chance there were any updates on Bob. I too was pleasantly surprised that you have updated us all Karyn. Thank you for that. I know it can be difficult to keep people updated on information when the family is going through so much. Bob we are so thankful for the success of the surgery and we pray that God will truly deliver you from this cancer. He is in control and we thank him for that. Sheldon and I are constantly praying for you. We love you and Debbie. We are praying for you Debbie as well. God is SO GOOD.

Bob, we are going to miss you tonight at CR! We love you and Debbie so much and are so grateful the Lord brought you into our lives.

We are going to stand beside you in your recovery, both physically, and in prayer, for as long as it takes. I can't wait to see you up and around again.

Take care of yourself, and remember: we can keep Oreo for you as long as you need us to!

Love,
Dan, Angi, & Elijah

Bob, Dave and I are really praying hard for you. You were there for us when we needed you and we have never forgotten it. We have been married 17 years this last week and we feel we owe part of that to you. Get some rest and don't give the nurses too hard a time, okay?

Love, Teresa (Dave and Josh)

Bob, we are praying for you and that you will have little pain and much success with the surgery. We have spoken before about the question “Why?” I can only say the following. (sorry for getting philosophical)

We suffer so God can be glorified. David suffered and God was glorified, Job suffered and God was glorified, Paul suffered and God was glorified, Jesus suffered and God was glorified and least of all I suffered and God was glorified. It is hard for one to see how suffering can bring glory to God but we see it already. Suffering gives those that love you the opportunity to be Christ like and glorify God. "I was sick and you looked after me..." May God bless you richly! We Love you and your family!

Bob I am glad to hear that you went through the surgery and doing well. I heard one of my professors say in a prayer after she had just found out that her sister had been diagnosed with breast cancer "Lord we know that breast cancer is no big thing for you." God is able to even cure cancer. Our prayers are with you.

Bob,
So glad to hear that you made it out of surgery as well as you did. It's also good to hear that despite the pain and fear that you've still got that awesome spirit. You're family's got that same spirit too. You should definitely take pride in that. God is good...all the time.

Just know that we're praying for you to work real hard in this area of recovery so we can continue to learn and be blessed by your expertise in all other areas of recovery. The SS may not be 'good' hands, but hey, at least it's in somebody's hands! We'll keep working hard at it, but just know that we're definitely expecting you to be back with us soon!

Grace & Peace,
n8

I wanted to let you all know that
I have been praying for you and I am so glad to see the good news posted this morning! Your family has really touched my families life in many ways. Bob and Debbie were the first one's to really make Dan and I feel welcome when we started going to Brother's Keepers meetings. Karen was the first one to offer to give me a baby shower. You all are very special people! Please let us know if there is anything we can do!

Hey Robert [sorry Bob, you know how we always remember "The Way We Were"], tough break man. I was just going to email you in a couple of days after getting your address at the '73 reunion. I had no idea I'd be reconnecting this way instead. I've passed the news on to Adrian Savage who will contact the rest of '72. As I told you at our 20th, you were always a cheerful jovial soul that it was a pleasure to see coming down the halls of good old MHS. And I can still remember the tension and anxiety we in the band all mutually shared with you in that French horn solo in Russian Christmas music. Ahh those were the days. By the way, Montage'72 and the '71 MHS record are available online now at Dave Land's website: http://www.kd5fx.com/MHS/MHS.htm
Listen . . . it will be good therapy I'm sure. So, let me be the first from '72 to say get well soon so you can keep on shining "Like a Beacon on a Hilltop"! I wish you well my friend. Dale Murphy
