Mom is going to pick up dad and take him home! YEAH! In home rehab will be coming to the house for the next few weeks, until he gets stronger. I am sure dad wouldn't mind visits while he is at home, but please call first.
Dr. Keefer will being doing tests on dad in the coming weeks to decide the best cancer treatment. Again, please pray that they find the best treatment and his body responds to it. Thank you for your prayers.
Way to go!! I am so happy to hear that you get to do out-patient rehab. I think that'll be so much nicer to be at home. We pray for you daily--love ya!
Hope your in-house rehab goes very well and that you, and your dear family, are strengthened and refreshed. Keep up the good work in physical therapy and know that we love you and are praying for you daily!
Quick Update: Bob was diagnosed with multiple myeloma on September 10, 2008. Some of the tumors were on his spine. Part of his spine was removed, and he has recovered from that surgery quite well. The chemo & radiation have started and we are praying that his body accepts the treatments, and God frees his body of the cancer!
This is his faithful journey...
God is Good - 2 year Celebration
What is Multiple Myeloma?
Multiple myeloma is a cancer of your plasma cells, a type of white blood cell present in your bone marrow. Plasma cells normally make proteins called antibodies to help you fight infections.
In multiple myeloma, a group of abnormal plasma cells (myeloma cells) multiplies, raising the number of plasma cells to a higher than normal level. Since these cells normally make proteins, the level of abnormal proteins in your blood also may go up. Health problems caused by multiple myeloma can affect your bones, immune system, kidneys and red blood cell count.
God is Good!
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Mark 12:30
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
Philippians 4:13
I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
